Akash Konar Vice Captain (Board 2022-23)

Review TextBeing the Vice Captain of Team Albatross for the 2022-2023 season has been an incredible journey. Our participation in competitions like SAE Aerodesign East, USA and the SAEISS Aero Design Challenge, India has provided invaluable exposure to the latest developments in the automotive and aerospace sectors. These experiences have undoubtedly given me a competitive edge for both job opportunities and college applications. Beyond the technical aspects, the teamwork and soft skills I've acquired are highly sought after in the real world. Moreover, I've gained not just friends, but a family within this team. Team Albatross has truly been a transformative experience in my academic journey.

Dhanvindh S Team Captain (Board 2022-23)

At Team Albatross, we don't just design aircraft; we engineer dreams that defy gravity and aspirations that reach for the sky. I captained the team for the year 2022-23 and my experience as a part of the team has been nothing short of incredible. The difficulties we overcame, the victories we enjoyed, and the endless hours we spent working together have left an everlasting impact on my heart. Having a 2-year gap due to covid didn't seem to impact us a lot with the kind of potential each teammate got. I am confident that the skills and lessons learned from leading Team Albatross will be invaluable in my future pursuits. The resilience, teamwork, and commitment to excellence that define our team will undoubtedly guide me as I navigate the next chapter of my academic and professional journey. Thanks to Team Albatross for being more than just an aero design team. It has been the catalyst for my growth, and I am truly grateful for the privilege of being a part of this team.

Harsh Sharma Vice Captain (Board 2020-21)

I joined Team Albatross in 2018, and I had no plans to join any clubs or chapters then as I felt I had to excel in my academics but I then gave the test for joining the team and was selected, and this till date has been one of my best decisions. Since then, I have served as a core member and vice-captain for the team and have always encouraged juniors to have a similar experience in their lifetime. This is mainly because the hustle and hard work the team demands from a person refines and prepares them for the challenges faced in real life. The work done on designing and manufacturing bluebolt in the late night hours, along with my teammates, is a time I would never forget in my lifetime and my journey in Albatross has always been a X factor in all my job interviews and my Master's applications!

Ketan Krishna Mishra CAD Head (Board 2021-22)

Team Albatross has been the best thing that happened to me in college. I feel that I was blessed to be part of this team. Had a great time learning and upskilling myself. The team provided me with the platform which helped me grow not only personally but also professionally. The skills that I learned in the team later helped me do some freelancing work and earn money in 3rd year itself. Apart from that it also gave me memories to cherish for years.

Priya Kulkarni Chief Technical Officer (Board 2020-21)

In Team Albatross, you do not learn concepts to be able to work, but you work to be able to learn. It’s an enriching and highly valued experience for passionate aero enthusiasts as the brand of SAE is recognised worldwide, which can give an edge for jobs and college applications. It has inspired me to pursue my Masters in Aviation at RMIT university, Melbourne and I’m currently a student affiliate of the Royal Aeronautical Society. The technical and soft skills picked up with the highs and lows in team settings is highly desirable in the outside world, & I stand as an evidence of acceptances in Purdue University, Cranfield and ENAC Toulouse as well and my fellow teammates are the same. Aviation is full of opportunities and with sustainability in focus for the #2050Netzeroemissiongoals, electric unmanned urban air mobility is a future that seems somewhat familiar after working with a team that makes planes which essentially “fly by wire”, rightly coined by SAE and many such global aero-organizations.

Soham Phatarphod Team Captain (Board 2021-22)

In my role as the Team Captain of Team Albatross, I underwent significant personal and professional development. Managing our team, coordinating our efforts, and tackling complex engineering challenges have honed my skills. It's been a transformative experience that has not only enhanced my engineering capabilities but also instilled in me the importance of effective leadership and teamwork.
